A dismal rainy Thursday morning ended up absolutely fine - no glorious sunshine but we didn't get wet at all. Here is the report from the allotment coordinator.
We weeded the central bed. The big news is that the onions are away and showing nicely - about 5-8 cm high already! Some radishes are showing too. We planted a row of carrots and a row of beetroot.
David Smith has constructed a magnificent pergola for the Southern bed and we assembled and installed it. It looks great and will be painted with preservative asap. We aim to plant some runner beans and perhaps a clematis in due course.
We spent some time talking to the Chair of the allotment association and another plot holder who exemplifies the highest standards of horticulture!
All in all: a very productive and enjoyable session.
