This elevenses was slow to start but then quite a few guests arrived, some new, some returning guests too - both of which is very welcome. We had tea/coffee/cakes and biscuits, probably far too many for a healthy diet but then it was elevenses! Of course it is becoming a little difficult to tell - which is the whole point of the meeting in a way - which guests are part of Band of Brothers and which are coming for LMH.
We were very pleased to welcome the Northern Representative of the UK Men's Shed Association, Rachel Meadows, to the meeting and she kindly brought along a large box of biscuits - thank you Rachel; but it was her knowledge of other 'sheds' and tips re funding that was obviously very useful to us. Rachel spent 90 minutes chatting to trustees and members, before videoing us and taking some shots of everyone there. the images possibly being used on the Association's website. She expressed the Association's interest in the fact that LMH is aiming to offer a wide range of activities for men, rather than perhaps the rather stereotypical woodworking shed, and also was very keen that we report back on our intention to put on talks about men's health.
Following the meeting, John, Chris and David braved the traffic problems in Lancaster and using a truck, kindly borrowed from Water Sculptures in Morecambe, collected 8 new pallets from a company in Forton Services before collecting 3 crates from a donor in Lancaster. These will help with a number of projects coming up.
